Not for the Free plan: an email and a password are enough. A card is asked only when you choose a paid plan, an add-on or tokens. Payments go through Stripe.
Yes, from Account & billing. Moving up takes effect right away and you pay the difference for the rest of the current month. Moving down is not refunded: the lower price starts with your next invoice.
Your projects are kept and your account moves to Free. Custom domains are disconnected, your oldest published site stays online within the Free limits, and add-ons and token boosts stop renewing, so you are not charged for them again.
Yes, on every plan: collections read your API or your Supabase project. On Starter and Pro, the Soltis proxy keeps your secret keys on our side so they never reach the visitor's browser.
